Access Vine
Advocacy Services Team
Serving people who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Advocacy
Supporting clients in promoting accessibility in employment, medical, community and home settings for safety and independence.
Building Self-Esteem
Instilling self-confidence so people can ask for services or accommodations needed for equal access and effective communication.
Communication Strategies
Provide effective strategies for individuals to articulate their communication needs and make requests for accessibility.
Disability Laws
Educating and training individuals on anti-discrimination laws for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, and promoting effective communication access.

Technology Services Team
Serving people who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Assistive Technology
Demonstrate and assess different auditory and visual technology tools that assist individuals in understanding what is being said.
Removing Communication Barriers
Provide consultation on overcoming communication barriers in the workplace, community and home.
Managing Hearing Loss
Identify solutions and offer recommendations for managing hearing loss.
Workplace Assessments
Provide on-site workplace technology assessments and individualized and group services.
Access Vine
Group Training & Resources
Serving people who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Community Training
Providing opportunities for groups of deaf and hard of hearing individuals to learn about accessibility and technology.
Entity Training
Covering topics such as deaf sensitivity training, assistive technology, accessibility, cultural competency, and appropriate provision of services.
Resources & Solutions
Connecting people with local, statewide, and national stakeholders to meet their needs. Providing consultation on accessibility matters and offering referrals to community resources, including sign language interpreters and captioning services.
What is the cost for advocacy or technology services?
No cost. Access Vine’s Resource Specialist Program Services are funded by Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, under Texas Health and Human Services.
